My god, the time is just flying!
Had the usual bloods taken at midwife last week to check haemoglobin levels - fine, and to check growth - fine and heartbeat - LOUD. Also went to see the Obstetrician at the hospital and he said things couldn't be better. He shed some light on the way the baby is lying (head down), which was nice as the midwife hasn't really said much on that. Still plenty of time for babba to move around!
Baby Burns is taking great delight in practising it's disco moves in my tummy during the night, which means sleep is not great at the moment! Oh and my dreams are very vivid - think foot long wasps.
Gave Julie at work a great big hug today. She had her daughter Isla at the same stage I am at now, at week 29, 11 weeks early. By heck she was a fighter and you wouldn't think looking at her now that her birth weight was 2 pounds 3 ounces. She's amazing.
If our baby was born now it would have a pretty good chance of survival, and the books say it would weigh about 3 pounds. I would be quite happy for it to stay in though thank you very much, but not too long please! Another friend of mine had her baby today, nearly 10 pounds and 2 weeks overdue! Owwww!
Kind of regretting buying everything so bloomin' early, as I think I'm going to be stuck for things to do when I go off on maternity, 3 weeks before my due date. Although...we will have Sky TV to watch (yes I managed to persuade Mr Burns that his life would not be complete without it, and we get broadband and a landline too - the latter of which my mum is delighted about, as she always thought it slightly odd me just having a mobile phone).
I am feeling massive, and keep coming out in cold sweats when I think there are still about 11 weeks to go - room for MORE growing! I still haven't put a lot of weight on other than the bump. Last time I was weighed I had only put half a stone on (and that includes the baby and all the 'stuff' that surrounds it), I put that down to no booze. Simples.
Craving everything sweet. Even bought some Mr Kipling's French Fancies the other day!
I AM trying to consume more calcium, iron etc etc, before I get stuck into the cakes.
